Four Local Squads Qualify For WV Playoffs

By Rob Metzger

Four area West Virginia high school football teams are heading to the postseason, with two of them hosting in round one.

According to the unofficial numbers calculated by John Simonson, Magnolia will be the number two seed in Class A, meaning they'll be home throughout the playoffs, until the Super Six Championships at Wheeling Island Stadium, should they advance.

Magnolia will host Williamstown. The date and kick off times for all matchups will be set Sunday morning. The road team picks the date and time.

Also in Class A, Madonna is the four seed and will host 8-2 Tug Valley. Wheeling Central earns the ten seed, and a long trip to East Hardy. The Maroon Knights eliminated East Hardy from last year's playoffs.

Wheeling Park is in the Class AAA field for the 2nd straight season. Park is the nine seed and heads to eighth seeded Spring Valley.
