Linsly Claims Bob Otten Trophy With 8-5 Win Over Wheeling Park

Linsly claimed its first Bob Otten Trophy Sunday night in Wheeling, given to the champion of the four team West Virginia state hockey championship tournament.

The Cadets beat Wheeling Park 8-5 to claim the title.

The two teams traded goals in the first period and went to the locker room tied at two.

Wheeling Park would strike for two goals in the second period to take a 4-2 advantage. Linsly would counter with a pair of goals to tie things back up after two periods.

Linsly took the lead for good with 7:24 to go in the game. Freshman Luke Edgerton would notch the next two goals as the Cadets took a 6-4 lead.  Edgerton scored four goals and recorded two assists.
