St. Clairsville sophomore Michael Ferns' list of football scholarship offers grew by four on Thursday, including one from new Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer.
Assistant coach Luke Fickell visited St. Clairsville early Thursday morning, and just a couple hours later Ferns got an offer from Meyer.
Earlier this spring, Ferns made a visit to Ohio State.
Ferns also picked up another Big Ten option on Thursday, as Illinois made an offer, along with Maryland from the ACC and Kent from the Mid-American Conference.
This week also saw Stanford offer the 6 foot 3, 235 pound sophomore. Former West Liberty assistant Ron Crook recruited Ferns. Crook is the Cardinal tight ends/offensive tackle coach.
Ferns isn't the only Red Devils player to pick up some Division I offers recently. Senior-to-be wide receiver Dan Monteroso's recruitment is gaining steam. Just this week, Iowa offered Monteroso, increasing his list to four schools, including Boston College, Ohio and Bowling Green.
