St. Clairsville's Monteroso Chooses Boston College Football Program

By Rob Metzger

St. Clairsville senior wide receiver Dan Monteroso has given a verbal commitment to the Boston College football program this weekend.

Monteroso just made a visit to Boston College on Wednesday. This followed a visit to another one of his finalists, Iowa, last week.

The 6-3 180 pound Monteroso also had offers from Marshall, Ohio, Bowling Green and Duke. Recruiting website Rivals.com lists Monteroso as a three-star recruit, while Scout.com lists him as a two-star prospect.

He is the 10th member of Boston College's 2013 recruiting class. The Eagles are a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Monteroso has been on the field for the Red Devils since his freshman year. Last season, he caught 10 touchdown passes despite missing the early part of the 2011 season recovering from off-season shoulder surgery.

Of course, Monteroso is awfully talented on the basketball court as well. He was the Associated Press Division II co-player of the year this past season for the state semifinalist Red Devils.
