Last week, Magnolia senior Mark Winters surpassed the rare 2,000 career point mark. Thursday night, Winters passed by Blue Eagle great Ted Talkington as the school's all-time leading basketball scorer.

Winters scored 21 points in Magnolia's 96-71 regional championship game victory over Clay-Battelle, giving him 2,034 career points.  The Wheeling Jesuit recruit needed just 12 points entering the night to surpass Talkington's old mark of 2,024.

With the records and milestones in the rear view mirror, Winters and the Blue Eagles now get set for the Class A state tournament in Charleston.
