Jets' Reserves Top Eagles' In Final Preseason Tuneup

Philadelphia, PA -- (Sports Network) - In a final tuneup before the games take on real meaning, the New York Jets held on to beat the Philadelphia Eagles, 27-20.With Brett Favre relegated to spectating, rookie Erik Ainge saw extended playing time for the Jets (3-1), who begin their 2008 campaign on September 7, when they travel to Miami to face former New York starting quarterback Chad Pennington and the Dolphins. Ainge completed 10-of-16 passes for 131 yards and one touchdown, while Jesse Chatman rushed for 93 yards on 29 carries and scored the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter. Chatman also caught six passes for 87 yards. Kevin Kolb played the entire first half for the Eagles (2-2), who open the regular season at home against the St. Louis Rams. Kolb connected on 13-of-21 pass attempts for 138 yards. A.J. Feeley took all the snaps in the second half, finishing 13-of-25 for 143 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Lorenzo Booker collected 36 yards on the ground, including a touchdown, and was a force out of the backfield, catching a game-high seven passes for 57 yards. Philly quarterback Donovan McNabb, running back Brian Westbrook and safety Brian Dawkins (ankle) did not play. The Eagles led 10-0 after the opening frame on a David Akers 40-yard field goal and Booker's three-yard touchdown run. After Mike Nugent kicked a 22- yarder, Akers converted from 28 yards out for Philadelphia. New York then cut the deficit to 13-10 when Brett Ratliff found Paul Raymond in the back of the end zone with 2:25 to play in the first half. New York pulled ahead in the third on Ainge's six-yard touchdown pass to David Ball and extended its lead further in the fourth on Nugent's 34-yard field goal. Philadelphia tied the game at 20 on Feeley's three-yard strike to Brandon Childress, but the Jets, with 6:26 remaining on the clock, reclaimed the lead for good on Chatman's two-yard touchdown run.
