Andy McKenzie Elected Wheeling Mayor

Unlike other races in West Virginia, the race for Wheeling mayor is complete tonight, no more elections to go through.Former state senator, Andy McKenzie (D) is Wheeling’s new mayor. McKenzie defeated Tony Domenick to take the seat.McKenzie is a life long resident of Wheeling. He has served as a state senator for the past 12 years and as a financial advisor.“I think we need to do a top to bottom analysis of the City of Wheeling. I want to understand what we’re doing well, what we’re not doing well, what things we can change. I want to look at each department. Are there things we can improve,” said McKenzie.McKenzie said his ability to reach out to colleagues in the legislation, as well as the governor, puts him in a different position.
