Butler, Fahey Face Off For Ohio County Sheriff In November

POSTED: 11:42 pm EDT May 13, 2008
UPDATED: 11:46 pm EDT May 13, 2008

Every county in the Northern Panhandle had one thing in common Tuesday, sheriff races.

In Ohio County, current county chief deputy Pat Butler (R) defeated John Powell.

Butler said his work is cut out for him for the November general election.

“I’ll be sitting down with my treasurer, John Reisbeck and his wife Libby, who have helped me immensely, along with Sheriff Burgoyne. Right now I just want to enjoy this victory,” said Butler.

On the Democratic side, George Fahey defeated August Bankey, James Hall and Vinny Jacovetty.

Fahey said he’s already planning his campaign for the November election.

“I’m just getting out there and meeting people, shaking hands, trying to get more people to work for me so I can get elected in the fall,” said Fahey.
