Ohio Valley Voters Split On Biden, Palin Debate

Democrat Joe Biden and Republican Sarah Palin were back on the campaign trail Friday after facing off Thursday night in the only vice presidential candidate debate.

While both candidates have been under scrutiny, voters in the Ohio Valley were split on how both candidates faired.

"I thought it was kind of interesting. I thought Sarah Palin held her own. I thought Joe Biden did a good job," said Tony Sarratore, of Martins Ferry.

During the debate, Biden took aim at McCain, saying he's not been a maverick on things that matter to people's lives, while Palin tried to cast the Democratic ticket as obsessed with the failures of President George W. Bush.

Another voter from Bridgeport said, "I thought they both did well and I think she did better than anyone expected." But, like Sarratore and others, she added that the debate would not change her vote.

A CNN poll gave Biden a 51 to 36 percent edge, but the same poll found Palin more likable by a 54 to 36 percent margin.
