The Harrison Hills teacher strike continues, but the return to action for more Huskie athletic teams may not be far away. Athletic Director Mark Kowalski tells News9 that the volleyball and football teams held their first practices Monday since the strike began October 1st. In fact, he says the volleyball team will compete in the OVAC volleyball championships Saturday, as well as the upcoming Ohio sectional tournament. The football team's return to practice was the first time they have been on the field since defeating Bellaire September 29th. Kowalski says school board-approved personnel are leading practices. He says a decision on whether the Huskies football game Friday with Indian Creek will be played will be made in the middle of this week. Harrison Central is currently 4-2 overall, still in the hunt for a postseason berth.
