Penguins Fans Geared Up For Must-Win Game

Survey: Do you think the Penguins will win Game 6 in the Stanley Cup Finals?

The quest for the Stanley Cup continues as the Pittsburgh Penguins get ready to take on the Detroit Red Wings in a must-win game to stay alive in the National Hockey League finals.

Earlier Tuesday, fans hit the streets in Pittsburgh for a "March For The Cup" rally with Mayor Luke Ravenstahl.

The Red Wings lead the series 3-2 after winning against the Penguins Saturday night in a 5-0 victory. If the Penguins win Tuesday to tie the series, there will be a seventh game in Detroit on Friday.

Whether they were cautiously optimistic or completely faithful, Pens fans seemed to each have their own theory about how the Penguins will pull off a win.

"They've got to keep the pressure on them. Get away from that 'dump and chase,'" said Brad Swan, of Belmont County.

Though the Penguins have yet to win a game in Detroit, some fans still think the end of a long season favors the black and gold.

"I think the Red Wings are a little older. Maybe they'll tire out a little quicker, hopefully," said Dan Watson, of Harrison County.

Even with the series nearing the end, local Pens fans were still buying up black and gold gear across the Valley before the game.

A manager at the Wal-Mart at The Highlands in Ohio County said the store sold out of their first shipment of Pens T-shirts and just received another batch Tuesday.

Game 6 in Pittsburgh will be aired at 8 p.m. on WTOV9.
