Penguins Fans Celebrate After Stanley Cup Win

Last year the Red Wings clinched the Stanley Cup in Pittsburgh. This time around the Penguins returned the favor by winning it all in Detroit.

Fans emphatically watched Game 7, gasping with every shot taken by the Red Wings and celebrating both goals scored by the Penguins. From beginning to finish the crowd was glued to the television screens.

Big cheers sounded after Maxine Talbot’s first goal of the game put the Pens up 1-0. An even bigger eruption came from the crowd after Talbot scored his second goal with fans screaming, hugging, and high-fiving. At that point it really seemed as though the Pens had the game under control.

The only downbeat of the night came when Sidney Crosby had to leave the ice with an injury. Even with Crosby spending significant time in the locker room the Penguins still pulled out a 2-1 victory bringing the Stanley Cup back to Pittsburgh for the first time since 1992.

Ohio Valley fans, including those at The Sports Bar at Undo's West in St. Clairsville and Damon's in Steubenville, stayed after the game to watch Crosby hoist the 35 pound cup over his head, a sight all Pens fans have waited to see since last season.
