Bradshaw Wins Fifth West Virginia Open Golf Title

David Bradshaw has won his fifth West Virginia Open championship

The Harpers Ferry native shot a 3-under-par 68 Friday for a one-stroke victory over amateur Tim Fisher at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Hurricane.

Bradshaw, the defending champion, finished at 10 under and earned the winner's check of $6,000.

At age 27, he joins Grafton's Brad Westfall for the second-most Open wins, behind Sam Snead's record 17.

Fisher started the day two shots behind Bradshaw and the margin grew to three on the back nine. Fisher birdied the final two holes to move to 9 under, but it wasn't enough. Bradshaw finished with eight straight pars.

Wheeling's Jason Martin and current state Amateur champ Jonathan Bartlett tied for third at 2 under and Charleston's Barry Evans was at 1 under.
