Jose Davis named head football coach at St. John

Updated: Monday, March 10 2014, 11:41 PM EDT

BELLAIRE, Ohio -- Former Bellaire football coach Jose Davis was introduced Monday as the new head coach at St. John Central.

Jeff Paolina, who coached the Irish for one season, stepped down and Davis accepted the position at the Irish Youth Sports Complex.

Davis coached at Bellaire, his alma mater, for five years where his teams compiled a 27-25 record, made two playoff appearances and won the OVAC Class 3A title last season.

Davis becomes the fourth head football coach at St. John in the last five years.

Davis will still coach Ohio during this summer’s OVAC All-Star game.
