Nogay Earns PAC Pitcher of the Week Award

Updated: Monday, April 7 2014, 05:25 PM EDT

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Washington & Jefferson senior right-hander Eddie Nogay was selected as the Presidents' Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday.

The former Weirton Madonna standout posted a 2-0 record last week and did not allow an earned run during victories over Grove City and Thiel.  He extended his streak of consecutive innings without allowing an earned run to 19 and tied Sam Mann '07 for the W&J school record with his 26th career victory.

On Monday, Nogay fired a complete game five-hitter in which he allowed only a pair of unearned runs in the sixth inning.  He struck out two and walked one for his 25th career victory.

Just five days later, Nogay twirled his school-record tying sixth career shutout, a 5-0 blanking of Thiel.  Nogay limited the Tomcats to three hits (two walks) and struck out a pair.

A 2013 ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com All-American, Nogay enters this week with a 26-2 overall record and a 2.46 ERA (2nd in W&J history).  He is 4-1 this season with a 1.45 ERA in 31 innings of work (5 starts).

Nogay is third in W&J history after having tossed 230 2/3 career innings, fourth with 146 strikeouts and fifth in career appearances (47).  One more complete game will count as the 11th during his years in the red and black uniform and will tie him for fifth all-time
