Updated: Friday, March 28 2014, 02:48 AM EDT

The West Liberty Hilltoppers will play for an NCAA Division II men's basketball championship for the first time in school history.

The Hilltoppers knocked off South Carolina-Aiken 86-83 in Thursday night's national semifinals.

Junior Shawn Dyer came through with a game-high 30 points. He was backed up in double-figures by All-American Cedric Harris' 16 points and Devin Hoehn's 15 points.

Keene Cocknburn had another huge game on the boards collecting 13 rebounds. Cockburn's bucket with 4:52 gave the Hilltoppers the lead for good after the two teams went through a stretch of trading baskets.

The Toppers held Aiken's Ronald Zimmerman to 13 points after he went for more than 30 in the quarterfinals.

West Liberty is now 31-3 overall. The  7th ranked Hilltoppers will face 20th ranked Central Missouri in the championship game Saturday at 3 p.m. in Evansville, Indiana.  The Mules defeated last year's national runner up Metro State 71-69 in the other semifinal.
