Adam Del Rosso

Severe Weather Team 9 Meteorologist / Reporter

Adam Del Rosso joined NEWS9 in May 2011.

He prepares and delivers the Severe Weather Team 9 forecast for NEWS9 Saturday Morning, from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m.  He also covers news from throughout the Ohio Valley during the week.

Born and raised just a hop, skip and a jump away in Pittsburgh, Pa., Adam is very familiar with the weather in the Ohio Valley.  Ever since he can remember, Adam has been fascinated with the exciting weather that comes our way.  When people would run inside to avoid a storm, he would be the one going outside.  That interest in the atmosphere made Adam's decision to study meteorology at Penn State that much easier.  Adam graduated from Penn State in May 2011 with a bachelor of science in meteorology and a minor in geosciences, focusing on natural disasters.

While in Happy Valley, Adam was very active within the Meteorology Department, including the Campus Weather Service.  He was a forecaster for PPG Industries, headquartered in Pittsburgh, as well as one of the talents on "Weather or Not," a student-run TV show dedicated to the weather.  Adam also worked a lot with "Weather World," a weather show airing across Pennsylvania on PCN, making graphics, directing, producing, and forecasting on-air.  He has also interned at WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh.

For fun, Adam enjoys relaxing with friends, traveling, listening to music, singing, watching TV, bowling, skiing and following the sports teams of Pittsburgh.  Every once in a while, you may catch him on the links (searching for his lost ball, that is).

Adam is excited to be working close to home here in the Ohio Valley.  Don't hesitate to say hello if you see him outside of the weather center.
