Josh Eachus joined NEWS9 in March 2010.
He prepares and delivers the Severe Weather Team 9 forecast for NEWS9 at Six and NEWS9 Tonight on the weekends. In addition, he covers news from throughout the Ohio Valley during the week.
Originally from Aston, Pa., just south of Philadelphia, Josh is no stranger to the area. He attended college not too far away at California University of Pennsylvania, where he began studying and researching meteorology. While at California University, Josh became heavily involved with the campus TV station, CUTV. He was the play-by-play announcer for all Vulcan athletics broadcasts for the better part of three years, and he also worked as a news/sports reporter. With the meteorology program, Josh organized various events including bringing guest lecturers to Cal U and local weather conferences. After his sophomore year, Josh spent two weeks storm chasing across the United States!
Josh graduated from Cal U in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology. After that, he enrolled in the university’s Master of Science sport management program and became CUTV’s news director/producer. From winter weather research, to sports announcing, to heading up the weekly newscasts, Josh is proud of everything he accomplished while at Cal U.
Josh’s hobbies include golfing, weight training, video gaming and traveling with friends and family. He spends much of his weeknights watching hockey, cheering on his hometown favorites, the Broad Street Bullies!
Josh is happy to be working in the Ohio Valley and covering news in a familiar region. He is excited about getting to know people in the area and encourages you to get in touch with him. And be sure to say hello if you see him around the Valley!
