Maggie Ruper joined the NEWS9 team in July 2008. She began as a producer for NEWS9 Midday and Live at 5 and also filled in as sports anchor.In November 2009, Maggie made the move to the news anchor desk when she began anchoring and producing NEWS9 at Six and NEWS9 Tonight on Saturday and Sunday. You'll also catch her in the field reporting during the week and find her back on the sports desk from time to time.An Ohio native, Maggie grew up in Rocky River, a suburb of Cleveland. That's where she first caught the news bug anchoring her high school morning announcements.A graduate of The Ohio State University, Maggie earned a degree in Mass Communication and Social Issues. While in school, she got her first real news experience interning at WBNS-10TV in Columbus, Ohio. Maggie finished off her senior year of college in New York City, where she landed an internship with NBC News. It was there she worked behind the scenes at the Today show, Dateline NBC and NBC Nightly News where she attended daily editorial meetings with anchor Brian Williams, producers and correspondents.In her spare time, Maggie enjoys running, taking a Zumba class, spending time with her family and friends and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes!
