Apple's new $49 Mighty Mouse has hidden touch sensors that can make it a two button mouse, as well as a "scroll ball" that allows 360-degree movement in documents.
The mice produced by Apple have always had just one button.
But the company introduced a next-generation Mighty Mouse on Tuesday that still looks sleek, but has four programmable buttons, as well as a new "scroll ball" on top. The ball allows scrolling in any direction in documents, photos or other applications.
The case of the $49 mouse has two touch sensors near the front that can be used like a two-button mouse, or as a single-button for those who prefer it.
Pushing down the scoll ball can also act as a button.
Squeezing the mouse from both sides can also act as a customizable button that can be used to launch applications or bring up menus.
The device is compatible with Windows 2000 and XP, Apple says.
