China and Japan Express Chavez Condolences
Hu Jintao and other senior Chinese leaders express their deep condolences at the passing of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez - pictured here on a visit to China in 2008. China's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman told reporters in Beijing that Chavez was a great leader of Venezuela and a good friend of the Chinese people. The Venezuelan embassy in the Chinese capital flew its flag at half mast on Wednesday.
