Venezuela Election Race Begins

With the death of Hugo Chavez, Venezuela has started the race to elect a new leader. Acting President Nicolas Maduro pushed for a snap election just hours after Chavez was honoured at a state funeral. On Saturday (March 9) election officials said the vote will now be held on April 14th. With little campaign time before the election, Maduro has been accused of cashing in on an emotional outpouring following Chavez's death.
