By Saturday night, conditions on major roadways improved and crews were treating secondary roads.
Latest Emergency Levels In Ohio
All winter storm warnings were over Saturday evening, but it will take some effort to clean up from what appears to be our fourth biggest snowstorm in our recorded weather history. Most of the area received between 10 and 20 inches of snow, with our total average coming in at 16 inches. With high pressure building in, skies should end up partly cloudy Sunday night, causing temperatures to fall into the single digits again.Expect a mix of clouds and sun both Sunday and Monday, with temperatures rising into the lower to middle 20s. The next storm should bring accumulating snows once again Tuesday into Wednesday, Severe Weather Team 9 said. The heavy snow also caused many trees and power lines to snap, leaving thousands of American Electric Power and Allegheny Power customers without service.Electric company officials warned people walking and driving to be aware of downed lines because they could be live wires.
