There's no place like home!

After 13 years of being away, I'm so happy to be back home in the Ohio Valley. Born and raised in Toronto, Ohio, I'm back home with the ones I love. My last stomping ground was Buffalo, N.Y., which was quite an experience with the snow and wind. My first Christmas there, the entire city closed down after receiving 7 feet of snow!

I love forecasting the weather. I take it as a huge responsibility...my job can actually save lives during severe weather outbreaks. When alerting the public of any weather danger, I may be the only source of information for some folks. It's an awesome feeling!

I am a graduate of Kent State University. I studied meteorology from Mississippi State University several years later, after working as a television weather anchor at various TV stations.

You can see me on NEWS9, WTOV9.com and WTOV9 WeatherPlus forecasting the weather on the weekends and then reporting from the field several mornings during the week.

I am a big advocate for the welfare of animals. I have three dogs and six cats, all rescued. I enjoy their company, admire their big hearts and child-like innocence, and appreciate their loyalty! I hope to rescue and own a couple of horses soon, something I've dreamed about since I was a young girl. One of my main goals in life is to make a difference in the animal world by educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering, to help change laws to better protect and serve the animals.

I do enjoy the outdoors, working in the yard, playing with my four-legged buddies, horseback riding, swimming, dancing, and anything to get me moving!

I want to thank you for watching. I enjoy being a part of the local community and doing what I love to do.

Sincerely,

Lisa
